What QRDart does
QRDart is a free browser app for moving things between devices without installing anything: turn text into a QR code, send files directly from one device to another, park a file behind a temporary download link, shorten a URL that expires on schedule, or open an anonymous encrypted chat. It works on phones and desktops, in English and Chinese.

- Face-to-Face Transfer — send files device to device over an encrypted direct connection, nothing uploaded.
- File Relay — upload once and share a download link that expires in 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days.
- Short links — short URLs with a QR code that stop working when you choose.
- Anonymous chat — end-to-end encrypted 1-to-1 and group chat with voice and video calls, no account to join.
- Toolbox — 219 small browser tools — image compression, JSON, encoders, converters — that run locally.
Text to QR code
- Type or paste text on this page.
- The QR code is generated instantly in your browser; download it or let another device scan it.
- If the other device cannot scan, turn on Fetch code: the text is kept on the server for 24 hours and can be retrieved with a short code.
Privacy
A plain-text QR code is produced on your device and is not sent anywhere. Only when you turn on Fetch code is the content stored on the server, for 24 hours. QR history is kept in this browser and can be cleared in Settings.
Across the site the rule is the same: Face-to-Face Transfer and chat are end-to-end encrypted and nothing is stored; File Relay, Fetch code and short links are the only features that keep data on the server, each one says so on the page, and each has an expiry after which the data is deleted.
FAQ
- Is it free?
- Yes. QR codes, direct transfer, short links and joining a chat need no account. File relay needs a signed-in account and has a free daily quota; creating chat rooms is a member feature.
- Do I need to install an app?
- No. Everything runs in the browser; it can also be added to the home screen as a web app.
