About this tool
Large photos slow down web pages and eat storage. This compressor re-encodes your image at a quality level you choose (from 0.1 for maximum shrink to 1.0 for near-lossless) using JPEG or WebP. Drag the slider and watch the preview and the before/after file size update instantly, so you can find the sweet spot where the file is small but still looks good. WebP typically produces smaller files than JPEG at the same visual quality, making it a strong choice for modern websites.
Everything runs locally with the HTML canvas and toBlob APIs — your picture is redrawn and re-encoded on your own device and is never uploaded to any server. That makes it safe for private photos, screenshots and confidential design work. Files up to 20 MB are supported; the download button saves the compressed result with the format you picked.
